ANGA COM 2016 starts at its Best with 450 Exhibitors from 37 Countries

Cologne/Germany, 6 June 2016 – ANGA COM 2016 will start tomorrow, Tuesday, with 450 exhibitors from 37 countries. With that Europe’s leading Exhibition and Congress for Broadband, Cable & Satellite has reached last year’s record level. The number of visitor preregistrations is also at last year’s high level. In 2015, 17,000 visitors came to the Cologne fairgrounds – 50 percent of them from abroad.
Dr. Peter Charissé, Managing Director of ANGA COM: “The booking level has exceeded our expectations. We are looking forward to three days of ANGA COM with a bursting exhibition hall and a total of 28 exciting congress panels. This year, we will combine broadband and media more top-class than ever. The visitors can expect a diverse and international mixture of business, technology, politics and regulation.”
This year and for the first time, Dr. Hannes Ametsreiter (CEO, Vodafone Deutschland) and Anke Schäferkordt (Managing Director, Media Group RTL Deutschland) will be attending the joint opening of ANGA COM and Medienforum NRW with the Premier of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia Hannelore Kraft. After this premiere duo, Susanne Aigner-Drews (General Manager, Discovery Networks Deutschland), Conrad Albert (Executive Board, ProSiebenSat.1), Tom Buhrow (Director General, WDR), Dr. Manuel Cubero (CCO, Vodafone Deutschland), Michael Hagspihl (Managing Director Private Customers, Telekom Deutschland) and Lutz Schüler (CEO, Unitymedia) will discuss how the incumbent providers will respond to the new trends of media usage and the growing online competition. For the first time, the moderator will be Dr. Christian Stöcker (Spiegel Online).
Following the slogan „Where Broadband meets Content“ key topics of the exhibition and the congress will be TV Everywhere, Multiscreen, Personalized TV, Big Data, Next Generation Networks, Internet of Things, All over IP and WiFi. Up-to-date strategy panels deal with the analogue cable switch-off, HDTV, DVB-T2 vs. Mobile TV as well as the future of the media and telecommunications regulation.
Highlight of the international programme will be the International Television & Broadband Summit with ARRIS, ASTRA, Eutelsat, Huawei, Liberty Global, Nokia, Rogers and Swisscom as well as the speech of the European Digital Commissioner Günther H. Oettinger who will open the second day of the event.

An exhibition ticket costs 22 Euros, congress tickets are available from 100 Euros onwards. On 9 June 2016 – the Broadband Theme Day – a visit to the exhibition and congress is completely free of charge upon prior online registration.
